There always comes a time in life where you may want change/something new. For instance a new style, a new hobby, or maybe you would like to introduce someone new into your life, like a pet! Obtaining a new pet can be a great addition to your life, but sometimes finding the right one can be difficult due to the many variations of dogs there are. Like us, dogs have different personalities and customs. Depending on the breed, the dog’s up keeping can be drastically different from one you may have met before. Below is a list of a few breeds that may help you gain an insight on which pet you would like to conceive.


Shih Tzu



A Shih Tzu, also known as “little lion”, is a toy dog breed that originated from Tibet, China. They typically grow about 9/10.5 inches tall, weigh between 9-16 pounds, and have a life expectancy of 11-14 years. Shih Tzu’s are known to be affectionate, joyful, and affable to people of all ages in addition to other dogs as well. These house dogs are quick to mature, typically reaching adult size in a span of 10 months. Being that they have a thick fur coat, Shih Tzu's often can trap allergens that result in itching and discomfort. In order to avoid this, it is essential to create a tedious routine in order to keep up with their coat, which is why they are often labeled as high maintenance dogs.



French Bulldog


A French bulldog or Bouledogue Français, is a companion/ toy dog breed that originated from Paris.

They are a crossbreed of Toy bulldogs and Parisian ratters. French bulldogs grow between 11-13 inches, weigh under 28 pounds, and are expected to live between 10-12 years. They are known to be very playful, adaptable, and compliant dogs. Frenchies thrive off companionship, which is why they tend to be very good with children and family, friendly towards strangers, and other dogs. However with this can come a few issues.

French bulldogs can be prone to separation anxiety due to that need for companionship, and they are prone to different health conditions such as Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome, heart strokes, and dry eye, So if you do decide to get a French bulldog, as friendly as they are it is important to remember the many health repercussions they can develop.

English Cream Dachshund




An English cream dachshund is seen to be one of the most elegant of the Dachshund varieties. Standard Dachshunds grow between 8-9 inches and weigh about 16-32 pounds, while miniature dachshunds grow between 5-6 inches, and weigh up to 11 pounds and below. With proper maintenance and safe keeping, dachshunds can have a lifespan of up to 16 years. English cream dachshunds specifically are described as all around people lovers, being very open and friendly to anyone, and very curious dogs, being very spirited in the midst of nature. However, with all these amazing qualities, English Cream Dachshunds are considered to be high maintenance because they require a substantial amount of exercise, and they are more susceptible to illnesses.
